August Trip To Ottawa, July 30-Aug 1, 2005
Ok ... this one was simply a by product of a long weekend, a car, a desire to get out of the city and a desire to hit the links and eat steak.

So ... on a whim, Thursday July 28 - I decided to go golfing and visit my buddy Darren - who was visited a month ago for Canada Day . But since we didn't golf that time and it was easy to do - I drove down to Ottawa early on Saturday - we went to a driving range and followed that with a great steak dinner at Cafe Euro, in Gattineau.
Sunday, Darren and I drove to the Champlain Golf Course in Gattineau, Quebec.
Darren lives right by the Canadian War Museum, he in fact walks by it every day.
Crossed the bridge into Quebec. Those are Canada's federal parliament buildings to the lower right.
And with in seconds you're in Quebec. And immediately you can tell you're somewhere else.
Here's a tell tale signal that you are in Quebec .... horizontal traffic lights and no right turns on a red light. Apparently, you don't want to suggest to a Quebecer that you can do anything but come to a complete stop on a red light - and do not move until you see a green light.
I'm told this wasn't the best example, but not a bad example of a 'Rice rocket'.
And had an awesome day at the golf course.
And having over eaten steak the night before, it was time for 16oz New York Strips.
A little down time after the golf.
Sun set at Darrens.

Woke up Monday Aug 1st and drove back home!
