Christmas in the Soo, 2006

Dec 22 - 28, 2006

So, on the 22nd I drove up to the Sault. Sheila flew to Winnipeg the day before (I drove her to the airport). The drive was good .. a little wet on the second half.

You know ... for as many Italians and French and Finns and etc as there are in the Soo, here's what a train bridge says on the way in to town.

(from Garden River, Native Reserve, just out side the Sault)

Heres a reunion of sorts with some high school buddies. Since Adam Caughill begged me to post photos of this on my website, here's an assortment of pics.

The wives.

The boys.

Christmas Eve Dinner

Christmas Eve Mass

Yah ... I can't believe lightening didn't strike me as I entered the church either.

My nephews (and sister) showed up on the 27th, from Toronto.

Nicholas's hockey game (Frankie's son) ... they won.

My Dad in his back garage.

Nicolas (and his dad, and grandpa) at the Porco Family Renunion.

There are other pics .. but basically, it was low key and relaxed as far as vacations go. Just what the doctor ordered.

On the 28th, I drove home. And Sheila arrived on the 29th ... I picked her up at the airport.

Here's a landmark institution of a Highway Variety Store ... not too far from that first bridge picture.
