U20 Canada - Argentina Friendly, 11 May 2007
me and jo made it early this time, so we could grab some food & beer

here's the warm up ...
this was the inauguration of the stadium, so there was some speeches by people who were all present ... the mayor, federal & provincial representatives ...

and ... World Football Royalty, FIFA's president Sepp Blatter ...
The curva sud ultras were in fine form, again!
Argentina opened the scoring, then Canada equalized with a David Edgar strike from the penalty spot ... here's the YouTube posting of the video I took

we spent the entire intermission waiting in line for a beer, and missed Canada hitting a post ...
Argentina scored a late winner from a cross that initiated from a corner, that I don't think should have been given (I'm 8 rows back of the corner flag & thought a goal kick should have been awarded)
At any rate, I think Argentina on the whole deserved the victory although our lads played exceptionally well. David Edgar was our best player, in my humble opinion. He was all class in the back on the field, he neutralized their centre forward, scored the penalty & laid countless passes to his team mates. And in another show of total class, he quickly saluted the Argentinean players and immediately went (by himself) to salute the fans. I was very impressed with his performance.
Mike and I have tickets to the U-20's, so I very much look forward to that.
