Quebec City, May 1-5, 2008
So, on May 1st I drove to my buddy Terry's place in Ottawa and after hanging out with his family for a night, on May 2nd, we made it over to Quebec City to check out a few games at the World Hockey Championship.
Here's 10 month old Jaxon Zanatta.
Unfortunately, due to a late injury, JP couldn't play for Team Italy - but we took the opportunity to hang out at the games together.

View from our seats at the Italy - Russia game.

Of course, we sampled the local fare. Namely Poutine (cheese curds & gravy on French Fries)
You can hear your arteries clogging as you eat them ... but you don't stop until they're done.
The famous toasted hot dog.
In Quebec, the mark of excellence is "Lafleur"
And le Pepsi. Although, we really drank L'Export.
Jacques Villeneuve caught the action just up from our seats.
The next day we hung out with JP and his family in the old city.
JP's family took off back home to the Soo that morning, and Terry and I walked around most of Old Quebec.
Chateau Frontenac

Very Euro feel to the 400 yr old centre.
VERY Euro feel to the poses. (ca. 1953?)
The Fortified Walls.
It was actually more welcoming than the graffiti suggests.
The "rec-room" essential ... (ca. 1973?)
That night we caught the Montreal-Philadelphia game at a pub with JP and his teammate Carter ... and Carter's family was at the same pub, so we all hung out even after the players had to leave to observe their curfew.
Carter's mom & aunts.
Their crew.
You can't really tell how much beer is fuelling these smiles!
On the last day we had two games ... Czech - Russia in the afternoon.

Then we met up with JP to catch the Italy - Denmark Game in the evening.

The next day we took off back home ... Good times ...
