Fiorentina vs. Lazio - Feb 19, Florence

So, I arrived in Florence on the 19th, and after ditching my bag - my cousin, his girlfriend and roommate and myself went to what is rumored to be the best place in Florence for a 'Bistecca a la Fiorentina' ... if there's a better place, I'd like to know.

And straight over to the stadium for the 3:30 start of Fiorentina - Lazio.

In the far corner is 'la curve fiesole' ... which is where the real nut bars are.

My cousin couldn't make the game, so his room mate Ergilio and myself took in the event.

The architect for the stadium is Pier Luigi Nervi.

Having seen the Canada - Switzerland game the day prior in Torino; this made two games, in two different sports, in two different Pier Luigi Nervi sports facilities, in two different cities, in consecutive days. There has GOT to be an Olympic Architectural Award for that?!?!

Ergilio, who's day job is a cook in a Florentine restaurant ... took over dinner preparations. Another well respected Italian profession.

Beans, Pancetta, Onions, Cherry Tomatoes, Peppers

Team Shot.

And promptly at 8pm, we tuned into Rai to watch JP - as Italy was playing the Czech Republic. And wouldn't you know it. JP scored.

What a day.
